The Beaulieu Vineyard (BV) Reserve Tapestry Red Blend opens with an expressive, highly perfumed nose of ripe blackberry, dark plum, and cassis, seamlessly interwoven with elegant nuances of wild violet, cocoa, cedar, and crushed graphite. Masterfully crafted from a blend of traditional Bordeaux varieties—anchored by Cabernet Sauvignon—the palate delivers a lush, multi-layered profile of dark berry compote, sweet baking spices, mocha, and subtle forest floor. Velvety, fine-grained tannins and a vibrant line of acidity provide exceptional structure and mid-palate weight, leading to a long, polished, and satisfying finish marked by lingering dark chocolate and savory woodsy accents.
Winery History
Founded in 1900 by French immigrant Georges de Latour and his wife Fernande—who famously exclaimed "Beau lieu!" ("Beautiful place!") upon seeing the land—Beaulieu Vineyard (BV) quickly established itself as a founding pillar of Napa Valley winemaking. The estate achieved legendary status in 1938 when de Latour hired legendary Russian-born enologist André Tchelistcheff, the "father of modern California winemaking," whose innovative cellar hygiene, temperature-controlled fermentation, and French oak aging elevated BV's wines to global acclaim. Famously surviving Prohibition by selling altar wine to the Catholic Church, BV went on to launch its iconic flagship Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon in 1936—California’s first true "cult" wine—solidifying a world-class legacy that has graced White House state dinners and global tables for over a century.
