The Beringer Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with intense, inviting aromas of sun-ripened cassis, black cherry, and wild blackberry, beautifully accented by warm notes of spiced cedar, sweet vanilla, dark chocolate, and a touch of savory tobacco leaf. On the palate, it delivers a full-bodied, velvety experience packed with rich dark fruit flavors—such as plum compote and fresh blueberry—supported by a firm, fine-grained structure and supple, mouth-coating tannins. Bright, youthful acidity seamlessly balances its luxurious weight, leading into a long, polished, and satisfying finish filled with lingering accents of mocha and subtle toasted oak.
Winery History
Founded in 1876 in St. Helena by German-born brothers Jacob and Frederick Beringer, Beringer Vineyards holds the distinction of being Napa Valley’s oldest continuously operating winery, having famously maintained operations straight through Prohibition by producing sacramental wine. Pioneering early winemaking innovations like gravity-flow processing and hand-dug hillside storage caves, the estate built an enduring legacy of hospitality by becoming the first California winery to offer public tours and tastings following Prohibition's repeal in 1934. Today, anchored by its iconic 19th-century Rhine House mansion, Beringer stands as a landmark of Napa Valley history and a global benchmark for quality, being the only producer to ever have both a red wine and a white wine named Wine Spectator’s #1 Wine of the Year.
