Winemaker Notes
Collina Dalla Valle 2020 displays classic approachability and freshness from the younger vines on the estate. Comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc in equal parts with a dash of Petit Verdot, the wine reveals layers of floral violet, cedar, pine needles and plush boysenberries reveal themselves with each sip. A seamless texture melds all the aromatics together with a smooth and prolonged finish.
About Winery
Dalla Valle Vineyards was founded in 1986 by Naoko and Gustav Dalla Valle in the eastern hillsides of Oakville, Napa Valley. Originally, they planned to build a luxury resort, but after discovering the exceptional potential of the land for viticulture, they shifted focus to winemaking. Gustav, originally from northern Italy and a pioneer in scuba diving, passed away in 1995. Naoko then took over the winery and built it into one of Napa Valley’s most iconic estates.
The vineyard is known for its iron-rich, rocky soils, ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, and its commitment to meticulous, sustainable farming and minimal intervention winemaking. In 2017, their daughter Maya Dalla Valle joined the winery, continuing the family legacy with a modern, globally informed approach.
Today, Dalla Valle is recognized as a preeminent family-run winery, often referred to as a “first growth” of Napa Valley, producing wines of exceptional character and complexity.
