Henschke

As one of Australia’s oldest family-owned wineries, Henschke has been making wine for over 150 years in the Barossa’s Eden Valley. Established in 1868, Henschke is resolute in its desire for complete integration of vineyard and winery, through six generations of family grapegrowing and winemaking tradition in the Eden Valley, Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills.

The sixth generation, Johann, Justine and Andreas Henschke, are all actively involved in continuing on the family winemaking tradition. Together, they bring a wealth of knowledge from winemaking to viticulture, marketing, engineering and project management. They are mindful of their role as custodians of the Henschke vineyards and their need to nurture them for future generations.

As the sixth-generation Henschke winemaker, Johann graduated with a Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology from the University of Adelaide in 2005. He has extensive experience in his field, undertaking vintages in Australia, New Zealand, Italy and the USA. In 2012, Johann completed a Master of Viticulture and Oenology in Geisenheim, Germany.

Andreas has over 10 years' experience working as a mechanical engineer and is qualified as a Chartered Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers of Australia. With a keen interest in emerging water technologies, he provides expert advice to support Henschke’s commitment to sustainable water management in its vineyards.

Justine holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing and Management), as well as several wine qualifications including the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits. After working in marketing and public relations in London, New York and Sydney, Justine joined Henschke in 2015 and manages all brand activity, including marketing, public relations, digital media, direct sales and events.
