Collection: Château d’Yquem

Château d’Yquem, located in the Sauternes region of Bordeaux, traces its origins back to the late Middle Ages when the estate was under French royal ownership before passing to the Sauvage family in 1593. Over generations, the estate became synonymous with exceptional sweet wines, particularly after the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855, where it was uniquely ranked as Premier Cru Supérieur, the highest distinction in Sauternes. Its success is largely due to the vineyard’s susceptibility to Botrytis cinerea (noble rot), which concentrates sugars and flavors in the grapes, producing wines of remarkable richness, longevity, and complexity. Today, with 126 hectares planted mainly to Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, Château d’Yquem continues to craft wines that are considered benchmarks of luxury and quality, often lasting for decades or even centuries in bottle.
