Winemaker Notes
The NV Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne is a refined and vibrant expression made entirely from Chardonnay grapes, showcasing the elegance and freshness typical of the house. It opens with aromas of citrus fruits, white peach, and floral notes like linden and jasmine, followed by subtle hints of brioche, almond, and ginger. On the palate, it’s smooth and creamy with fine bubbles, balanced acidity, and a mineral-driven finish that adds depth and sophistication. This Champagne is ideal as an aperitif or paired with delicate seafood dishes, reflecting Ruinart’s signature style of finesse and purity.
About Winery
Ruinart Champagne is the oldest established Champagne house, founded in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart in Reims, France. The inspiration came from his uncle, Dom Thierry Ruinart, a Benedictine monk who foresaw the potential of sparkling wine long before it became popular. Initially, Ruinart Champagne was offered as a gift to clients of the family’s cloth business, but its success led Nicolas to abandon textiles and focus solely on Champagne production by 1735. Ruinart was also among the first to age its wines in the ancient chalk quarries (crayères) beneath Reims, which provide ideal conditions for maturation. Over the centuries, Ruinart has become renowned for its elegant, Chardonnay-driven cuvées and its deep connection to the arts, maintaining a legacy of innovation and refinement in the world of fine Champagne.
