For more than twenty years, Charles has made his mark as a winemaker. He built Washington’s largest winemaker-owned winery. He’s the only person to win both Food & Wine and Wine Enthusiast‘s Winemaker of the Year title. He continually releases countless high-scoring wines. All without wavering from his own unique, creative vision.

The name HOUSE OF SMITH communicates the emotion Charles exudes in his winemaking – a solid and established home to his living vision that keeps intensity, integrity, and contemporary culture at its core. He believes wine is a connection to the history of humanity while providing a roadmap for the future to create a lasting legacy.
