The estate officially adopted its compound name in the 1930s when Jean Billaud married Renée Simon, uniting their family holdings and significantly expanding their vineyard footprint along the Serein River. Managed for decades by Bernard Billaud, the winery built a stellar reputation for crafting pure, crisp, and mineral-driven Chardonnays sourced from prime Kimmeridgian limestone terroirs, including notable Premier and Grand Cru plots.
